Team GBR

In 2010 the British para-equestrian dressage squad will be part of the Team GBR contingent competing at the Alltech FEI World Equestrian Games being held in Kentucky, USA. The para-dressage phase will run from 5th - 9th October.

The squad selected for the World Equestrian Games comprises (in alphabetical order):

• Ricky Balshaw (Academy Award)
• Sophie Christiansen (Rivaldo of Berkeley)
• Anne Dunham (Teddy)
• Lee Pearson (Gentleman)
• Jo Pitt (Estralita)
• Emma Sheardown (Purdy's Dream)
• Sophie Wells (Pinocchio)

Lee Pearson and Sophie Wells are selected with reserve horses, Zion and Valerius respectively. The non-travelling reserve is Natasha Baker (Cabral).

The British para-equestrian dressage team are regarded as the best in the world and they proved this at the Beijing 2008 Paralympic Games by bring home ten medals, including the team title which they have held since equestrian sport was added to the Paralympic programme. In 2009, they once again dominated the sport when they brought home another 9 medals plus team gold at the European Championships in Kristiansand, Norway.
