Ben Maher Biography

Originally starting out at his local Pony Club, Ben has come up through the showjumping squads, representing Great Britain at Pony, Junior and Young Rider European Championships before being named as part of the Senior European squad in 2009.

Winning both the Hickstead Derby and the Speed Derby in 2005, Ben’s Senior Championship team debut for Great Britain came at the 2008 Olympic Games in Beijing. He has since gone on to represent Great Britain at two more European senior championships, 2011 and 2013, and the London 2012 Olympic Games.

He has represented Great Britain on 38 Nations Cups teams (as of August 2014).

Ben was awarded an MBE in the 2012 New Year Honours list.
