Michel took over coaching the Para-Equestrian dressage squad in 2005 from Jane Goldsmith. He is a graduate of the Cadre Noir at Saumur and was longlisted for the French Olympic dressage team for Seoul in 1988. His best known horse was Annastasia, on whom he was French National Champion. He has trained in Germany and America, and is now based in Essex with his wife Mette. He was the 1995 UK Dressage Trainer of the Year and is a member of the International Dressage Trainers Club.
