The Olympic Disciplines
The Olympic Games includes three equestrian disciplines; Dressage, Eventing and Show Jumping and the Paralympic Games features Para-Equestrian Dressage. Team GBR is regarded as being one of the best in the world at both Eventing and Para-Equestrian Dressage, with the two sports winning 22 medals in Athens and Beijing between them. In 2009, Eventing gained a European Champion and won the team title. Dressage won 2 medals and Para-Dressage a massive 10 medals including 6 individual titles and the team title.
Youth Teams
The three Olympic disciplines also compete in Pony, Junior and Young Rider competitions at European Championships each year. Our Youth Teams are very successful; Great Britain currently has 2 European Champions and holds the team title in 1 competition at this level and won a total 5 medals in 2009. In 2009 equestrian sport (Dressage and Show Jumping) was included in the Australian Youth Olympic Festival for the first time and Britain came home with 5 medals, including Team Gold in the Dressage.
The Non-Olympic Disciplines
Team GBR competes outside the Olympic arena in 4 other internationally recognised disciplines: Driving, Endurance, Reining and Vaulting. These disciplines compete at both European and World Level. In 2009 Vaulting gained a European Champion - this was the first time Team GBR had ever won a medal in this sport.

Team GBR is underpinned by the Equestrian World Class Programme which is comprised of World Class Performance, World Class Development and the Equine Pathway.
